劉德銘簡介

Born and lives in Hong Kong, Rorce Lau is a fine art photographer from Hong Kong.  He lived his early years as a business professional in the commercial world till, at his mid-age, he reconnected with his innate urge as an artist.  In 2012, Rorce completed his Master of Fine Art study with his works focusing the ideological change of Hong Kong people since the Sino-British political handover.

As he was born and lives in Hong Kong, his art development direction is deeply affected by the social and political occurrences from a British colony to a Chinese Special Administrative Region.  Rorce’s works exhibit the complexity of human reality by revealing how political changes intervene individual social beings.  His photographic language is simultaneously abstract and narrative in nature.  As a result, his works are noticeably poetic and sentimental.

Rorce was awarded Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) in 2009 and Master of Fine Art in 2012 by RMIT University, Australia. He is currently the part-time lecturer at Hong Kong Art School, teaching Fine Art Photography for RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University) BFA course which is co-organized by HK Arts Center and RMIT University.
