Larry first discovered jazz/swing music when his grandmother took him to see a big band show in San Francisco at the age of 8.
Hooked on the big band sound, he spent the next several years exploring the classics – including Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Benny Goodman – by borrowing albums from the local library.
Inspired by renowned vocalists such as Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Harry Connick Jr., Larry has spent the past several years honing his vocal skills under the guidance of Grammy-nominated artist Howard McCrary.
Larry has been a regular vocalist with the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra in Hong Kong, performing at the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival 2013, “Taipei Swings 2012” at the historic Zhong Shan Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, and the Shenzhen Fringe Festival 2011. Appointed as a “Cultural Ambassador” by the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Leisure and Cultural Services Department in 2012 and 2013, Larry helped to spread his love of big band and swing jazz to audiences all around Hong Kong through a series of public performances and workshops.
Recently, Larry has performed at a number of high profile corporate events for clients including AIA, BASF and Pannerai.
